Murano Venetian White Gold Flecks Fish Stem Italian Art Glass Compote Bowl

Gorgeous early Murano hand blown white and gold flecks Italian art glass compote bowls with fish stems decoration. The rim has a flared out ruffled crimp along the edge, with an applied rigaree ribbon decoration towards the bottom of the bowl itself. The middle of the piece is made in the shape of an ornate gold fish. It all stands on a fairly large whit foot. Everything is profusely covered in gold leaf. The inside of the bowl, the fish stem decoration and the applied foot. An elegant design, in the Venetian style. Would make a great display piece on any coffee table, dresser or credenza. Use it as a catchall, or candy dish. Mid-century era. The 2 bowls available are almost identical, except one is a little taller. Measurements: 7 1/4" tall x 6 1/2" wide.
