About the Item

A stylish English studio pottery bowl decorated in blue glazes with a trailing snake design by William Illesley (British, b.1948) and made at his Stamford pottery before 2005. The stoneware bowl is of wide rounded with a raised edge and fold back rim and is decorated in mottled blue glazes of varying tones the centre of the bowl with a snake with stylized snakeskin patterning in blue on a white ground. With impressed artist seal mark to the base. In good condition.
