About the Item
Art Deco Crow Ashtray or Catchall with Match Holder, Painted Wood, France 1940s
Art Deco Catchall or Vide-Poche, Zoomorphic style.
This very rare object was initially an ashtray with a matches holder and a striking surface at the back of the crow.
Beautifully crafted in wood, painted in black and red, with plastic expressive eyes.
For a smoker, it could still be used as an ashtray.
For anybody else, this original object would be a one-of-a-kind catchall for keys, jewels, coins etc.
Nice patina, a few minor scratches here and there but nothing very much noticeable.
