George III Bottle or Decanter Stand Made in Dublin by William Doyle, 1799

About the Item

Dublin a Rare George III Bottle or Decanter Stand Made in Dublin in 1799 by William Doyle. This rare piece is elliptical in form and stands on four unusual tall shaped feet with double prick dot borders. The stepped rasied rim is decorated with reeding and the main body is bright cut engraved with a band of flower heads in ovals and foliate designs, this all flanked by bands of wriggle work. The centre is engraved with a circular bright cut cartouche containing an unusual bear Crest. This piece is very well marked on the reverse and is in excellent condition. Salvers and stands are rare to find from Ireland. Additional information: Length: 7.9 inches, 19.75 cm. Width: 5.6 inches, 14cm. Height: 1.3 inches, 3.25 cm.
