About the Item

This lovely Mid-Century ceramic cigar ashtray, desk tidy, vide poche, or catchall, was crafted by Marius Giuge Atelier in Vallauris, France, in the 1960s. The puffy donut-shaped design has a lava-textured pattern in black and white colors with green enameled accents. The piece is marked on the underside Vallauris. The vide poche is in excellent condition, with no pronounced signs of wear. Measurements: 7.50 in diameter (19 cm) x 3.57 in high (9 cm). Note: Marius Giuge (1909-1980). His work is in line with Bugatti and Colin. In his workshop in Vallauris, he employed four people between 1949 and 1980: one molder, two enamellers, and one turner. They make a lot of turned and cast ceramics.
