About the Item
This beautiful pair of antique English porcelain dishes was made by Chamberlains Worcester circa 1830.
Each dish has a graceful rectangular shape with softly scalloped edges and a finely gilded rim.
At the center of each is a boldly scaled botanical painting—unusually large for pieces of this kind and striking in both detail and composition. One dish shows a pair of deep pink roses in full bloom, their petals rendered with delicacy and depth, surrounded by curling leaves and buds. The other features a richly painted grouping of chrysanthemums and bluebells, each flower distinct and vibrant.
The hand painting is particularly fine, with naturalistic detail and a painterly touch.
The white ground is decorated with elegant gilt scrollwork and foliate sprays, creating a sophisticated frame around the central scene.
These dishes reflect the Late Georgian / George IV style, a period known for refined porcelain forms and richly embellished naturalistic decoration.
Together, they are a superb example of early 19th-century English porcelain—refined in form, vibrant in decoration, and full of visual charm.
