19th Century French Repousse Silvered Metal Spice or Jewelry Box

About the Item

Crafted in southern France circa 1860, and octagonal in shape, the antique box is built of metal with a silvered finish with repousse floral and leaf motifs throughout. The decorative casket with decorative handle, features five inside compartments all with lids for spices. The safe is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated finish. Versatile, this elegant antiquity could be used on a shelf in a office or study, or as a jewelry box on a bathroom counter! Measures: 12.5" W x 6.5" D x 5.75" H.
