Art Deco Box, Metal, Macassar and Crystal
About the Item
This elegant Art Deco decorative box with a crystal bowl inlay was made in France during the 1930s. Formerly, the box with its serving insert would be used as a cookie box or candy jar. The modernist design boasts a chromed metal and Macassar wood holder base with carved handles. The crystal cut insert bowl has large geometric etching and is topped with a tropical wood lid ornate with three beads in Macassar wood and chrome. There is no visible maker's mark.
The box is in good condition, with no pronounced signs of wear.
Measurements: 9.63 in wide (24.5 cm) x 4.32 in deep (11 cm) x 5.13 in high (13 cm).
