A beautiful cast iron jar with amazing patina. Designed by Carl Elmberg and made by Näfveqvarn Bruk, Sweden, 1920s. Art Deco / Swedish Grace.
Relief decor of a running woman, a hunter and a deer.
Great condition.
Carl Elmberg (1889–1955) sculptor and craftsman. Worked after his studies in Germany and Italy with the sculptor Carl Milles before starting to work independently. Among Elmberg's works are portrait busts, reliefs and public decorations. For Näfveqvarn's mill, he designed several objects of cast iron, for example this tobacco jar.
