About the Item

Early English Victorian 1st Prize Equestrian Silverplated Figural Trophy Box—England, Mid-19th Century This exquisite early Victorian silver-plated trophy box, dating to the mid-19th century, is a rare and distinguished equestrian prize. Measuring 7 inches high, 7 inches wide, and 4.5 inches deep, it features a scalloped and crimped oval form, topped with an elegant figural rearing horse finial set in a detailed landscape. The body showcases fine engraved decoration, including a central cartouche proudly inscribed with "1st Prize," marking its significance as a prestigious award. The underside bears a worn, mostly illegible tag detailing its history and is hallmarked with a stylized cross and the letters C and O.
