The birds—likely peacocks—are set against a black lacquer ground and framed in faceted wood panels with corner metal mounts, typical of Meiji to Taishō period craftsmanship.
Beneath, two drawers feature geometric parquetry inlays in contrasting tones, a nod to Hakone yosegi marquetry traditions.
