About the Item
A small brass snuff box or pill box with a hand-painted Rubaiyat scene. This small box will be great in a purse or even on a side table or coffee table. It is petite and round and features a tiny hand-painted Mughal or perhaps Moorish scene on a cut pearlized piece. The scene depicts two men on horseback possibly playing polo. A pink tent is pitched in the background and both men wear traditional attire. The box opens to reveal a small mirror on the underside of the top. There is some desilvering to the mirror. The lid fits snuggly into the body of the box. The exterior walls feature a hand tooled arabesque pattern of dots and lines. The bottom is unmarked.
