A Sèvres style antique French fan shaped porcelain jewellery box

About the Item

A Sèvres style antique French fan shaped porcelain jewellery box or casket dating from the last quarter of the nineteenth century. Hand painted with Watteau style allegorical scenes of three women in a landscape being wooed by a cavalier , putti holding garlands of flowers flying above the women. The central cartouche is framed against a bleu de roi background with rococo gilded designs. The sides of the box have hand painted landscapes and ormolu mounts. France circa 1875
