Tunbridge Ware Large Lined Burl Walnut Inlaid Box with Mother-of-Pearl
About the Item
A sizable and very handsome inlaid English walnut box with notable decorative details. The box with geometric and rosette pattern inlaid bands, diamond form mother of pearl escutcheon and a mother of pearl diamond form medallion on the top. The large burl wood box opens to a later dark red velvet interior. The box with rounded edges and a flat top. The bottom with green felt.
Dimensions: 11 5/8" W, 8 5/8" D and 5" H
Condition: fine stable age cracks including across the top, tiny loss to mother of pearl escutcheon, minor loss to burl on back right corner, very minor veneer losses that do not detract from the overall presentation of the box. No key. Please see photos for details of condition.
