Victorian Tunbridge Ware Letter Rack Box
About the Item
An antique Tunbridge ware box having a beautifully inlaid exterior with floral rose borders, a waisted form, and a domed top with and inlaid mosaic pattern of a homestead. The hinged lid opens to reveal small removable dividers for letters or stationery. The lid is lined in red silk with some holders for pens or pencils. The bone escutcheon has a circular form.
Dimensions: 7 1/4" x 4 1/2" D x 4 1/2" H
Condition: lock is detached, key and one screw are included. The box with crackalure including a bit of lifting on the dome, veneer losses with some repairs along the edges and dome, chip to lower right corner, fraying to silk interior. Please see detail photos for condition.
