19th Century Tramp Art Jewelry Box

About the Item

19th century tramp art jewelry box from England. The box has a domed top with layers upon layers of molded edges, leading up to a graceful formed top, which gives the box such stature. This tramp art box was carved and designed by a master craftsman. There is not a bit of this box that has been left undecorated. Every corner and edge has hand carved molding, or decorative accent of some kind. The top lift to reveal a jewelry tray, with the original lining and a mirror. In the front of the box there are two drawers, the top one with a lock which engages when you turn the handle. This is a gorgeous piece of folk art, which would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
