Pair of Ring Holders in Mother of Pearl and Gilt Bronze, Palais Royal Work

About the Item

Pair of Charles X ring holders (baguiers) with ormolu mounts embellished with small flowers. A high backing of mother-of-pearl joins a small, ormolu bowl featuring openwork interlacing and teardrop-shaped mother-of-pearl gadroons surrounded by gilt bronze, flowering friezes. Each baguier has six hooks for jewels. The small bowls are lined with rich, crimson velvet, circa 1820. Dimensions: W 2.8 in, D 2in, H 7.7in. Dimensions: L 7cm, P 5cm, H 19.5cm.
