About the Item
This brass Shabbat candlestick holder by Max Chayat is a classic example of the artist's constructivist work in the 20th century.
Holder rests on four arched legs of which the center arch supports the tall stem that branches out into two curved stems to which the bobeches are applied with circular placements for the two Shabbat candles.
At the top center, stylishly applied to the branching stems is a flame-formed design that resembles the letter "Shin" which is the first letter in the word Shabbat in Hebrew.
