About the Item

Pair of Whimsical Vallauris Ceramic Candleholders, France, circa 1950s An exceptional pair of sculptural ceramic candleholders from Vallauris, France, dating to the 1950s. These striking pieces feature a surrealistic heart-shaped form with a central eye motif, rendered in a richly textured, mosaic-like glaze. The color palette—grey tones punctuated by vivid orange and soft pink—recalls the expressive architectural surfaces of Antoni Gaudí, particularly the sculptural works of Park Güell in Barcelona. Entirely handmade and signed "Vallauris," these candleholders exemplify the whimsical creativity and craftsmanship associated with mid-century ceramics from the Vallauris region. In pristine vintage condition. Dimensions: Height: 7.1 in (18 cm) Width: 7.1 in (18 cm) Base Width: 3.9 in (10 cm) We specialized in antique and 20th century ceramics, glass and objects, like lamps, side tables, stools, mirrors, etc. Please check out our storefront ¨Gorgeous Vases¨ for more items in this style.
