About the Item

Made circa 1855 by Elkington, Mason & Co., this stunning and large pair of Antique, Victorian, Silver Plate Candelabra, will hold 9 candles each and feature figural sculptures to the base, and ornate detailing throughout. The candelabra carry a date plaque for publishing of April 1855, and are also each engraved with the coat of arms and motto of the The Royal Army Medical Corps. Each candelabrum measures 27"(69cm) tall, by 16.75"(42.5cm) wide and deep. The motto reads 'In Arduis Fidelis', which translates as 'Faithful in Adversity'. The Royal Army Medical Corps was formed after the restoration of Charles II in 1660.
