About the Item

Pair of cast paktong circular base candlesticks with a removable gadroon edge bobesh. The tall, slender shaft is capped with vasiform candle cup on a waisted pedestal with a flaring, stepped base. The foot of the candlestick shaft has ring turnings over a gadroon molding which is peened to a stepped circular base also edged with a gardoon molding. England, circa 1780.
