About the Item

A striking true pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu, patinated bronze and Vert de Patricia marble candlesticks. Each candlestick is raised by a square ormolu base, socle pedestal and a fine fluted wrap around band. The circular Vert de Patricia marble central columns are decorated with richly chased ormolu female masks joined by swaging garlands. Above are elegant patinated bronze figures draped in wonderfully executed flowing garments each holding an urn with flowers. The fine stems are accented with beautiful leaves and most elegant floral candle cups.
