Edvin Ollers (1888-1959) Edvin Ollers, originally Olsson, was an industrial designer and painter, one of the innovators of Swedish glass art. Ollers studied at the School of Industrial Design in Stockholm and at the Valand Academy of Fine Arts in Gothenburg. In 1917 he was employed by Kosta, where, inspired by medieval glass, he designed glassware, such as bowls, jugs, tureens and wine glasses, mainly in green or blue-tinted glass. The following year, Ollers moved to Reijmyre, where he produced the same types of glass, and in 1926 moved to Elme glassworks, for which he designed objects with cut decoration in cool 20th-century classicism. Around 1930, Ollers was active at Limmared, only to return to Kosta in 1931. Ollers has also worked at Alsterfors, Åfors and Ekenäs glassworks, and designed art and utility ceramics for Upsala-Ekeby, drew models for pewter and silver works, and composed book bindings.
