About the Item

Pair of Roseville Pottery ceramic candle stick holders in the Zephyr Lily pattern on blue background are marked with molded "Roseville U.S.A. 1163 4 ½" on the bottoms. Zephir Lily pattern was introduced in 1946 in 3 standard colors: Bermuda Blue, Evergreen (green), and Sienna (brown). Roseville called Zephir Lily "a lovely design of unusual grace, beauty, and refinement" in their advertisements; the motif depicts a flower of the genus Zephyranthes, native to the tropical regions of Americas, and the shapes are mostly based on classical designs with the addition of curved handles with knob-like termination at the vessel, with a few shapes showing a slight Mid Century Modern style influence. It was the only new line that Roseville introduced in 1946. 1163 model is the larger candle stick holder in the collection, standing at 4.5" tall. It features a handle on each side; the body is decorated with a raised Lily flower motif in cream and soft brown with green leaves on both front and back sides. The candle stick holders are in very good vintage condition and are ready to be displayed. They will make a perfect addition to a wide range of interiors, from Traditional to Mid Century Modern, Transitional, Victorian, Collected, Glam, or Contemporary; due to the convenient size they can be used as a mantel or shelf decor, as a part of tablescape, or as a coffee table decoration.
