About the Item

For your consideration is this 1982 Howard Miller Limited Edition Mahogany Hourglass II wall Mantle Clock. Hour glass II has a secret link with the future. One which will not only prove its own authenticity, but document each successive owner. Hour Glass II combines lavish use of rare woods and precious metals with that most sought after ingredients of all - the pride of master Craftsmen. Designed in the spirit of the 18th Century Georgian period, the case is made from the finest Honduras mahogany with rare crotch mahogany veneers. Only 1982 of these clocks were made to celebrate Howard Miller's 56th anniversary and were all numbered serially. The 1st Hourglass was reserved for the Mr. Howard Miller, the founder of Howard Miller company. Numbers 2 to 7 were conferred upon recipients of the 1982 Howard Miller Hourglass Award. The rest were made available to collectors and connoisseurs with the taste and means to seek out the very best. After the last Hourglass II was made, no more was available. At any price. Posterity is served by the contents of the felt lined secret compartment in the bottom of the clock. It is designed to hold this document with the names of succeeding owners. So far, only one owner. There is plenty of room for your family tree. The clock is in excellent vintage condition and is in good working order. All manufacturer document available. The clock measures 16.75" in width, 8.25" in depth and 33.5" tall to the tip of the finial.
