About the Item

Antique fire-gilt Empire mantel clock, circa 1805, Paris. Masterpiece Solid bronze, extremely finely chiseled and gilded. Depicting a seated lady on a neoclassical saber chair with Empire decorations at the table, which represents the clock case. The woman, with a concentrated gaze, holds a book with her arm bent. A rectangular, partially marbled base stands on conical, gilded bronze feet. This clock is a true masterpiece, crafted with the finest and best craftsmanship. An absolute eye-catcher. The clockwork has been replaced with a quartz movement.
