French Ormolu Figural Mantel Clock with Glass Dome, circa 1820

About the Item

A French Charles X period ormolu mantel clock. The drum case flanked by a young couple standing under a palm tree with flowers all around, while the lady touched the man's hand. The superb and original ormolu clock, with 8 day duration, silk suspension movement, strikes the hours and halves on a bell, and contained by a large glass dome. Dimensions of clock: Height: 22" Width: 16" Depth: 5.5" Dimensions of glass dome: Height: 23" Width: 20" Depth: 7".
