About the Item

French silver and guilloche enamel timepiece with hand painted picture. Of unusual construction with oval case decorated to the rim with a one inch border in deep blue guilloche enamel. The face with triangular or fan shaped chapters below the 12 o'clock position. Super quality hands. Below the dial is a scene of two lovers all hand painted in watercolor, in excellent condition barring a small age crack towards the bottom. Silver hallmarks for 950 standard silver (French). Stamped for the top London and Paris retailer Mappin and Webb. 8 day movement with integral key.

An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique Swiss silver and pink enamel miniature boudoir clock; an addition to our silver timepiece collection. This exceptional antique Swiss silver miniature boudoir clock has a plain rectangular form. The surface of this impressive antique clock is embellished with impressive pink guilloche enamel panels, framed with plain broad sterling silver borders. The upper portion of the enamel clock is fitted with an angular carrying handle. The enamel dial of the clock is ornamented with black hour numerals, encircled with plain black chapter ring of minute markers and fitted with shaped pink hands. The face of this timepiece is visible through a circular glass 'window' with a plain applied silver border. The hinged door and opens to reveal the original movement. The clock movement is fitted with an incorporated hinged winding key, featuring a shaped handle with a lobed fingerpiece.
