About the Item
Elegant table clock with an arched case, crafted from hand-carved and ebonized wood, decorated with lost-wax cast and gilded bronze details. Further refinement is provided by the brass inlays on the wood, featuring plant and geometric motifs that recall the designs and construction techniques of the famous 18th-century French cabinetmaker Boulle. The clock mechanism is in perfect condition and features a weekly chime that chimes on the hours and half-hours. The dial features Roman numerals, while the case, which opens on the front and features glass, also features glass on the sides. The gilded bronze pendulum depicts a typical 18th-century sun. On the front, under the dial, the inscription "Henneger Lyon" is visible, referring to the French cabinetmaker from Lyon, while the movement is stamped with the numbers "239" and the inscription "Bailly Weibel - Lyon," attributable to the French watchmaker also from Lyon. This unique clock is a refined piece of furniture, capable of tastefully enhancing any space. Made in France in the mid-19th century, in the Louis XV style.
