About the Item

A beautiful example of a hand made girandole banjo clock by well known Weymouth, Massachusetts clockmaker Elmer O. Stennes (1911-1975), with a signed circular face with brass ball surround, surmounted by a gilt carved eagle with spread wings on plinth, eglomise floral waist marked "Patent", flanked by pierced brass scrolls, over a round eglomise hinged panel with "Aurora" and chariot, with gilt ball surround, acanthus leaf drop. The clock has a brass movement and is in very good working condition, with minor surface gilt touch-ups, imperfections and light wear commensurate with age and use. Includes winding key. Dimensions: Approximately 44 in H x 12 in W x 4.5 in D. Ref: 8
