Stunning clock for the collectors of rare and truly stylish Gothic antiques. Gothic wall clocks are a rare find and this more than three feet tall specimen probably is the tallest and the most elaborate we have ever seen. All handcrafted and hand carved around the turn of the century this Gothic castle-like antique is very ornate, but in a stylish way. It comes with an abundance of perfectly hand-sawn and hand carved Gothic elements and the warm patina of this oakwood work of beauty makes it even more impressive and medieval looking. The church window-like side panels, the castle tower-like front with its many windows and also the roof with the hand carved slate tiles are just some of the Gothic elements that together paint the picture of this rare work of time telling art. It must have taken one very skilled artisan weeks if not months to create this incredibly detailed, Gothic wall clock. This one of a kind antique comes with all the original glass panels intact. Inside, on a gilt bronze bracket rests the original and perfect working, brass, ten day clock mechanism with a beautiful dial face and patinated pendulum. This clock runs smoothly with a low-noise tic-toc and it strikes a gong sound on the whole and once on the half hours. The key for winding both the clock and striking mechanism also is included.
