An abstracted icon that has wiped its traces, the slant is pure, saturated presence. Despite its elegant shape, it is heavy enough to withstand any change of time and weather. The marble’s mature vanity is held by a base made of oak and mirror-polished brass.
VAUST is a Berlin-based experimental interior design studio focusing on the manufacture of furniture-inspired objects and the development of contemporary spatial concepts. Their work aims to affect, it wishes to provoke and induce and leave its vis-à-vis altered. It is keen on keeping up with what will be while gathering inspiration from what has or could have been. In order to open well-known patterns up to reflection, they abstract and estrange them, turning them into something new. Something unseen, something deeply sensual, something rough and emotional and soft and brutal, something utterly luxurious.
