19th Century Spanish Baroque Style Frame Solid wood carved frame, applied with gilt mouldings. The ebonized border is decorated with gilt foliate scrolls. The frame is covered in verso with antique printed book pages. Spanish frames are known for their flamboyant style. Usually dramatic with gilt sculptural carvings and ebonized polychrome finish. The opulence of the framework glorifies the high quality of this example. Condition is very good commensurate with age and use. Measurements: Outside - H 32” x W 26” x D 1.5 Inside -24” x 18”
