About the Item
Lithuanian born Canadian Artist Pranas Baltuonis dated 1967. We are including a 1970 exhibition catalog which shows this exact sculpture. Pranas Baltuonis studied Art in his native Lithuania before moving to Canada in the 1950's where he pursued his Art education (at the Montreal Museum of Fine arts) and his career.
The use of an existing, organic form gives his work a very "poetic" quality, reflected in this particular sculpture. Google him if you want to know more. It is really a stunning work of art that feels wonderful to the touch. Sort of belongs with Nakashima furniture.
