About the Item
Abstract sculpture belonging to the constructivist current of the 1960s/70s, made of galvanized sheet metal by artist Sergio Ponzio called Ponzio IV.
Pontius was an artist who produced little , one remembers exhibitions in Paris and New York City in the 1990s.
In the 1960s he worked alongside the NP2 group in Turin and was also part of the abstract constructivist current that emerged in the 1960s.
His works are extremely rare because he produced only one-of-a-kind commissioned pieces.
Extremely difficult technique, as the pieces of sheet metal are maniacally welded with an unrepeatable gesture.
