Claudio Capotondi,
One of the great Italian sculptors still living.
Born in the ancient Etruscan city of Tarquinia, Italy, in 1937, after living and working in Rome , New York and Pietrasanta he has been back in his hometown of Tarquinia since 2023.
To date, he has created 19 public artworks in Italy, the United States, Japan and Libya, and held solo exhibitions in Rome, Florence, Turin, Carrara, Bari, New York, Paris, Finland and group exhibitions in numerous cities around the world. In 2000 he received the coveted Michelangelo Award from the city of Carrara. His sculptures can be found in several public and private collections.
