Large Abstract Stoneware Sculpture by Lewis Trimble
About the Item
A large freeform organic 'spore' sculpture in stoneware hand crafted using the nerikomi technique by Lewis Trimble. The sculpture is constructed using the time consuming process of Nerikomi which is done by using different color clays and building layers and then cutting and turning those layers into sheets of patterned clay. Then hand built into the final form. After firing these are hand dyed and sealed with a commercial grade archival non yellowing polyurethane. They feel like stone and have a rustic feeling like an ancient piece of pottery.
