In their long career, Belgian ( interior) designers and architects Claire Bataille and Paul Ibens have remained true to their starting point: striving for the greatest possible simplicity without compromising functionality. Their designs are stripped of any ballast. Shapes and lines have been purified until only the essence remains. The tight geometry that is created in this way is then filled in with intelligently chosen, mostly natural materials that give an unprecedented warmth to their realizations. In their many years of working together, Bataille and Ibens have a list of impressive projects to their name, ranging from private residences, retail, and offices to public spaces. Beside their joint career, Bataille and Ibens also created their individual designs and projects.
