About the Item

Monika Dabrowska-Picewicz Rounded Objects by Nów Designed by Monika Dabrowska-Picewicz Dimensions: D 31 x W 26 x H 20 cm Materials: stoneware, grog clay, colored porcelain Monika Dabrowska-Picewicz A graduate of Ceramic and Glass department of Academy of Fine Art in Wroclaw. Laureate of the Young Poland Scholarship Programme awarded by The Polish Ministry of Culture. She has participated in many international exhibitions and symposiums, including England, France, Spain and Italy. In her works she balances between abstract sculpture and functional form. They refer to natural surroundings, which constantly provide her with structures and shapes. Air, trees, river stones, and water are natural components that during creative process undergo a metamorphosis into a personal vision. Nów: We are artisans and promoters of handcrafted production. We come from different parts of Poland, we have different professional experiences. We draw from tradition, although we do not strictly adhere to artisanal rules. We choose the freedom to experiment - with form, material, and the production process. We spread knowledge about contemporary Polish crafts in the country and abroad. We represent the interests of craftsmen in contacts with public institutions and business. Together, we create the New Moon Association. New Craft - an organization of modern craftsmen. Originators of the New Moon Association. New Craft are Olga Milczynska and Malgorzata Herman from Projekt Pracownie.
