About the Item

This series was conceived as a way for the Collector to really interact with a work of art. Titled "Play With Me, No Really" it refutes the idea that "Art" must sit alone on a pedestal and cannot be touched. Here you can! Rearrange the blocks as you desire whenever you desire. This "play" engages a meditative moment and inspires creative energy in the player. The solid blocks are hand formed by the Artist from 2 or 3 different types of clay. Here the artist used a dark stoneware and a light sculpture body to add texture to the white-glazed blocks. The dark blocks are coated in a rich clay slip. No two are exactly the same. This set contains 7 blocks. Sizes vary and range from approximately 1 1/2 x 1 inches to 3 x 1 inches tall. Included in the photos below are images of them in various combinations but you can let your own imagination fly! Not recommended for young children. Please note: dimensions depend on the way the pieces are laid down together. Recommend odd numbers for more dynamic 'play'.
