Selection of Decorative Abstract Marble Menhir Column Art Sculptures, circa 1970 by Gerrit Patist. Sizes: Largest 57cm 41 / 40 / 40 / smallest 26 cm Gerrit Patist Visual Artist who received his training at the Artibus Academy and Center for Professional Training for Stonecutters in Utrecht The Netherlands. He mixed his love for stones with his fascination for Indian and African culture. Surrealism adorns a number of his works. In a number of images his sketch of the pencil can still be seen as if it still needed to be finished. It was his signature but also the desire for creativity in his head to start the next work of art. He worked day and night with passion, stones were his zest for life. He carefully selected these himself from the quarries in Belgium, France and Italy. Whether it was the shape, the color palette or the whimsicality, it was for him the source of creation. Faces suddenly appear inconspicuously in a boulder Subtle. But also abstracts that are almost in contrast with the faces. Out of the box. A wide range of works are reviewed. “No, there is no need to exhibit, it would be nice if they formed a path in the forest or garden,” according to the family. As natural as possible.
