SkLO Blown Glass Coil Sculpture

About the Item

Offered is a long, coiled, transparent blown-glass sculpture that rests on a long console or as a table centerpiece and did not come with a stand. The sculpture is comprised of organically twisted tubes of handblown glass with cut and polished ends that each measure approximately 2" in diameter and, together, the sculpture measures 9" in depth, 51" in length, and 12" in height. "Showcasing the inimitable clarity and thickness of Czech glass, SkLO's Coil Sculptural Object embodies the ability of glassblowing to capture a kinetic moment in time. Made by blowing and stretching a long tube, then wrapping that tube around a form made out of a section of log, the glass master shapes, stretches and pulls each object into its final unique shape. SkLO is a collaborative design company founded by Pavel Hanousek, Karen Gilbert, and Paul Pavlak. Based out of Healdsburg, CA, the design team collaborates with master glassmakers in the Czech Republic. SkLO glass is built to order, artisans skillfully hand-blow glass for each of the lighting fixtures and objects in the collection. As such each piece is unique, and slight variations are typical, emphasizing the beauty of the handmade process with every design."
