Description:
“XYZ4” is a signed, museum-quality sculpture by Italian artist Alberto Cabiddu, crafted in 1999 from Pietra di Vicenza, a refined limestone historically used in Renaissance architecture. This work features a rhythmic composition of intersecting curved planes, evoking movement, balance, and tension in space.
Cabiddu’s sculptural language merges architectural clarity with organic minimalism, inviting comparisons to Barbara Hepworth and Constantin Brâncuși. With its quiet, meditative presence, this piece is both a visual anchor and a conversation piece.
What makes “XYZ4” exceptionally rare is its provenance: for nearly 30 years, Cabiddu declined to sell any of his sculptures, choosing instead to develop his oeuvre in solitude. Only in 2024, through a unique collaboration with Vintage Objects, did a small number of his works become available to collectors for the first time.
