Bitossi Aldo Londi Rimini Blu Vintage Mid Century Ceramic Sculpture , 1960s

About the Item

The Bitossi ceramic rooster designed by Aldo Londi is indeed an iconic piece of Italian pottery from the 1960s. Aldo Londi was a prominent designer for the Bitossi Ceramiche company, which was founded in 1921 in Montelupo Fiorentino, near Florence, Italy. The Rimini Blu glaze is characterized by its vibrant blue color with variations and speckles, giving it a distinct and lively appearance. The rooster, in particular, is a beloved symbol in Italian culture, often representing vitality, good fortune, and a connection to the countryside. The combination of Londi's design and the Rimini Blu glaze has made these pieces highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of mid-century modern design. If you have one of these ceramic roosters, especially in good condition, it could be considered a valuable piece of vintage Italian pottery. Its value may vary depending on factors such as condition, size, and rarity, but these pieces can be quite collectible and may fetch significant prices in the market for mid-century modern design and Italian ceramics. About Bitossi (Manufacturer) Like a Fellini movie, the ceramics of this famed Italian company embody a creative spectrum that ranges from the playful and earthy to the high-minded and provocative.
