Charming elephant family consisting of two larger and one smaller figure, designed by renowned Swedish artist Vicke Lindstrand (1904–1983) for the ceramic manufacturer Upsala-Ekeby during the 1940s – a period when Lindstrand served as the company’s artistic director.
Made of softly stylized, matte white-glazed earthenware, these elephants feature elegant, upward-pointing trunks – a traditional symbol of good luck. The design is minimalist yet expressive, with a strong sense of movement and balance.
One of the elephants retains its original Upsala-Ekeby label, adding provenance and collector appeal.
A beautifully sculptural mid-century set with distinct Scandinavian design character – perfect as a decorative trio or collectible ceramic ensemble.
