About the Item
"Fougue" french for "wild, and spirited" , by Max Le Verrier with foundry mark
This captivating sculpture embodies the essence of "Fougue," capturing the spirited movement of a horse in full gallop.
Every sinew of muscle, every flowing mane, and every pounding hoof is frozen in a moment of dynamic energy. The sculpture's form seamlessly blends strength and grace, evoking the raw vitality of a wild, untamed spirit charging through space and time. Subtle scratches enhance its patina, adding depth and character to this powerful portrayal of equine motion.

Max Le Verrier
Max Le Verrier was born on January 29, 1891, in Neuilly-sur-Seine. He opened his studio in 1919 and won a medal at the famed 1925 Exposition in Paris that gave Art Deco its name. Later, he established a foundry that cast bronze sculptures for Pierre Le Faguays and Marcel Bourain, among others. Although Le Verrier experimented with other alloys, he continued to create pieces in bronze as well. Le Verrier died on June 6, 1973, in Paris.
