Mid-Century Modern Era Large Cast Plaster Seated Black Panther Sculpture

About the Item

This large and substantial cast plaster sculpture is unsigned, but presumed to have been made in the United States in approximately 1960 in the period style. This large sculpture depicts a seated black panther and has been cold painted with a powdered paint, giving the body a velveteen finish. The casting is quite detailed and realistic, and the sculpture has applied plastic eyes. The origins of this sculpture are unknown, but may have been used in an advertising store display application, or even possibly as a carnival or studio prop. Please note the size posted below as this is a rather large and heavy cast sculpture.
