About the Item

Patrick Laroche bronze figurine depicting a wild boar and her two boarlets. The figurine captures a sense of movement and realism, evident in the texturing of the animal’s fur and the lifelike posture. Laroche’s works are typically inspired by wildlife and nature, with an attention to anatomy and expressive detail. The dimensions: Length x width: 17 x 7 x 6.5 cm Weight: 503 grams Patrick Laroche, born in 1959, is a Franco-Swiss sculptor known for his work in stone, bronze, and wood. After moving to Belgium in 1985, he trained under sculptor Roger de Jonckheere, learning key techniques like marble cutting and moulding. Laroche's talent quickly gained recognition, and in 1990, he was commissioned by the Réunion des Musées Nationaux to reproduce the Victory of Samothrace for the Louvre. He also participated in major archaeological projects, such as the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. In 1992, he was commissioned by Chanel, and in 1997, he won the prestigious Meilleur Ouvrier de France award for his marble sculpture work. In 2008, Laroche shifted toward more contemporary public art, launching his colorful "Vegetables" series, exhibited in prominent Parisian locations. He later represented France at the 2015 Milan Universal Exhibition. More recently, Laroche has returned to creating sculptures that blend functionality with artistic expression, inspired by his love of ancient art. His career, spanning over 35 years, has included over 100 exhibitions, with works featured in international collections.
