Rare Art Déco 'Cacatoès' Silvered Bronze Car Mascot

About the Item

A rare silvered bronze car mascot / hood ornament modeled as a stylised cockatoo. Mounted on a custom made polygonal wooden base. Signed in the bronze "Bourcart". Original silver-nickel finish. Over all height including base is 22.5cm (8.8 inches). This is an 'accessory' car mascot that was selected to adorn radiator caps in the 1920s & 30s. It is not associated with any specific make or model of automobile.
