Wonderful and large original antique sculpture of a beautiful chimpanzee / ape.
Over the years we have owned and sold a fair number of beautiful quality sculptures in all kinds of materials, but we never had the pleasure of offering a sculpture as realistic and museum quality as this good size terracotta chimpanzee young. The perfect anatomy and posture of this top quality sculpture immediately convinced us to purchase it. What also made us not hesitate was the fact that it is in mint condition and it really has a unique presence. For a matt glazed terracotta sculpture of more than one hundred years of age to be in this, superb condition shows the respect that former owners had for this wonderful young chimp sculpture.
